Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced the following cases addressed by President Judge Janine Edwards on Thursday, Oct. 8:
ANTHONY A. TOBIN, 33, of Stroudsburg was sentenced to the State Correctional Institute for a total period of not less than 20 months nor more than 72 months for one count of Fleeing, one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and one count of Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended/Revoked. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $500. This incident occurred on December 19, 2019, in Salem Township.
MARY STEELMAN, 62, of Equinunk was sentenced to 90 days house arrest, 60 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $1,500 for one count of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. She was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, comply with drug and alcohol treatment in accordance with her assessment, and complete the Alcohol Safety Program. This incident occurred on February 12 in Manchester Township.
LAURIE ANN HENTZ, 60, of Honesdale was sentenced to 72 hours house arrest, 6 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 for one count of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. She was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, comply with drug and alcohol treatment in accordance with her assessment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program and complete 25 hours of community service. This incident occurred on July 27, 2019, in Honesdale Borough.
CORA WELLER, 30, of Honesdale was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $850 for one count of Theft by Deception. She was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, and ordered to participate in Behavioral Health Management Services. This incident occurred on July 20, 2019, in Honesdale Borough.
