[ARCHIVED] Children’s Christmas Bureau Announces 2020 Sign-Up Dates

New and gently used children's gift items await distribution day in the Park Street Cafeteria las

HONESDALE -- The Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau administers a seasonal program, which helps hundreds of Wayne County families enjoy their Christmas morning. 

The Bureau operates solely on donations and depends upon the wonderful and historic generosity of the Wayne County community. The need is especially great this year and no donation is too small. You can adopt a family or make a single donation to help the cause. Please know that every child helped is from Wayne County therefore, 100% of your donations stay local.

Donation checks are greatly appreciated and should be made payable to WCCCB. Please mail them to the WCCCB, 200 Delaware Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.

Registrations will be accepted at the Chamber of the Northern Poconos, Honesdale Offfice on Commercial Street: Monday, Oct. 12, 8:30 am to 4 pm; Tuesday, Oct. 13, 11:30 am to 2:30 pm; and Friday, Oct. 16, 3 to 7 pm.

Please enter only through the Community Room entrance. Signs will be posted on the door. 

If your family is in need of assistance, please bring the following items with you in order to sign up: a current utility bill (within last 30 days). A driver’s license is not acceptable and noo applications will be accepted without proof of Wayne County residency; Social Security numbers for all children are required. (Only one parent can sign up and you must have physical custody of the children); To register your children they must be between the ages of newborn – 16 years. 

 If you do not have the required information you will not be able to register your children at that time.

You will be given your pickup date and time when you sign up. Distribution of gifts will be on Sunday, December 13th.  Pick up will be at the Park Street Complex located at 648 Park Street, Honesdale (old Stourbridge School cafeteria).  Pick-up times will be assigned in advance and are strictly enforced.

Families, organizations, groups, clubs or even a communal gatherings of friends can "Adopt A Family" for Christmas.  Your generosity will help make the Holiday Season bright for the families using the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau.

The adopt-a-family, please Call or e-mail the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau at (570) 881-8382 as soon as possible and say, "We want to adopt a family this Christmas!” or email info@wcccb.org.
