[ARCHIVED] Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minor Cases Among Criminal Sentences

Wayne County District Attorney AG Howell announces the following cases addressed by the Honorable Janine Edwards, President Judge Wayne County Court on Thursday, June 4:

PETER TOMASETTI, age 21 of Lake Ariel, Pa was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 11 months nor more than 60 months, less 1 day, for one count of Indecent Assault (M1). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution and is a Tier II offender who is subject to a 25-year registration period. The incident occurred in March 2018 in Lake Township, Wayne County.

JOHN GINTER, age 71 of Hawley, Pa, was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 3 months nor more than 60 months, less 1 day, for one count of Corruption of Minors (F3). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution and is a Tier I offender who is subject to a 15 year registration period. The incident occurred between March and September 2013 in Paupack Township, Wayne County.

MARK MCGURK, age 41 of Waymart, Pa, was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 3 months nor more than 6 months for one count of Disorderly Conduct (M3). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, continue with mental health treatment and comply with all recommendations, and complete an anger management program through a provider approved by his parole officer. The incident occurred on July 5, 2019 in the Waymart Borough.

ELIZABETH CARNEY, age 52 of Lake Ariel, Pa, was ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine of $500.00, and will be placed on probation for a period of 6 months. She had previously plead guilty to one count of Defiant Trespass (M3). The incident occurred on December 13, 2019 in Paupack Township, Wayne County.

SAMUEL VERRILL, age 28 of Honesdale, Pa, was placed on probation for a period of 6 months for one count of DUI (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $500.00, be placed on House Arrest with Electronic and Alcohol Monitoring through the SCRAM Program for a period of 2 months, participate and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment in accordance with his drug and alcohol assessment, and attend and complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program. The incident occurred on May 10, 2019 in Salem Township, Wayne County.

KELLY SCHIMANSKI, age 34 of Wildwood, NJ, was placed on probation for a period of 5 years for one count of DUI (M1). She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine of $1,000.00, be placed on House Arrest with Electronic and Alcohol Monitoring through the SCRAM Program for a period of 90 days, and participate and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment in accordance with his drug and alcohol assessment. The incident occurred on April 7, 2019 in Canaan Township, Wayne County.
