Download the brochure and registration form.

This year’s events include: Chain Saw Tree Felling, Axe Throwing, Two Person Crosscut, Jack and Jill Crosscut, Professional Skill Tree Felling, Log Rolling, three classes of Chain Sawing and we have brought back the vertical standing block chop and the ‘Super Swede’ bow saw! The competition draws competitors from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and beyond. Each event will have trophies and prize money for first, second and third places.

Since its establishment in 1983, the Wayne Conservation District has held this competition in conjunction with the Wayne County Fair to promote the timber industry in Wayne County. Come out and watch the professionals, who use many of these skills every day in their line of work. Don’t miss the family activities on the grandstand lawn, including a ‘Lumberjack’ theme photo booth for selfies, wood cookie necklaces, and audience giveaways, too!

It all takes place Saturday, August 3 at 2 pm in front of the grandstand at the Wayne County Fair located on route 191, one mile north of Honesdale. Admission to the fairgrounds is $10 per person, which includes parking, exhibits, rides and free grandstand for this event.
