[ARCHIVED] DUIs, Controlled Substances Mean Jail Time in Wayne Court

HONESDALE – An Ohio will spend the next 28 to 120 in a State Correctional Institution for two counts of driving under the influence. Jay Hall, 32, of Chippewa Lake, OH, was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine, cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment after he was arrested for DUI on Oct. 1, 2016 in Cherry Ridge Township and then on Oct. 13 in Honesdale Borough. His blood alcohol test revealed, on both occasions, revealed controlled substances.

Senior Judge Raymond Hamill also handed down the following sentences Thursday, Oct. 4:

KELLY WIETRY, 26, of Gouldsbor0 was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 9 months nor more than 36 months for one count of Delivery of Controlled Substance (F) and one count of Criminal Use of Communication Facility (F3). She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $500, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, comply with mental health treatment, and obtain employment. The incident occurred on October 23-27, 2017 in Lehigh Township.

CHRISTOPHER BROWNELL, 29, of Honesdale was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 4 months nor more than 18 months for one count of Possession of Controlled Substance (M), one count of Possession of drug Paraphernalia (M), one count of Illegally Operating Vehicle without Ignition Interlock (M), and 5 summary offenses related to traffic offenses. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a total amount of $1,175 in fines, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, and maintain employment. The incident occurred on October 21, 2017, in Paupack Township.

DAVID BUTLER, 38, of Sterling was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 90 days followed immediately by 60 months less 90 days in the Intermediate Punishment Program. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay fines in the total amount of $4,000, be placed on House Arrest with Electronic and Alcohol Monitoring for a period of 9 months upon parole, participate in and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment, perform 100 hours of community service, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and maintain employment. The incident occurred on November 22, 2017 and April 27, 2018 in Sterling Township. His BAC tests revealed .195% and .239%.

MELISSA RODRIGUEZ, 32, of Hackettstown, NJ, was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 11 days nor more than 18 months for one count of Simple Assault (M2).  She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, complete an anger management course, continue with mental health treatment, and refrain from contact with the victim. The incident occurred on February 12 in Lehigh Township.

MICHAEL TESSEYMAN, 23, of Tyler Hill was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 2 days nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $800, participate in and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment, and complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Course. The incident occurred on December 7, 2017, in Damascus. His BAC revealed a .123%.

CURTIS MAEHL, 36 of Hawley was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 72 hours nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, participate in and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment, and complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Course. The incident occurred on January 20 in Clinton Township. His BAC revealed a .25%.

CAITLIN BURKHEAD, 25, of Honesdale was placed on probation for a period of not less than 24 months for one count of Criminal Conspiracy-Theft by Unlawful Taking (M1) and one count of Receiving Stolen Property (M1) She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay restitution the amount of $400.00, and continue drug and alcohol treatment. The incidents occurred on March 26, 2018 in Honesdale Borough and April 19, 2018, in Dyberry Township, Wayne County.

JOSEPH FELICETTA, 20, of Honesdale was placed on probation for a period of not less than 6 months for one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $300, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, perform 50 hours of community service, and obtain employment. The incident occurred on April 14, 2018, in Bethany Borough.
