[ARCHIVED] Heroin Possession Sends Nevada Man to Wayne Prison

HONESDALE -- Senior Judge Raymond Hamill sentenced Travis Chesky, 27, of Sparks NV, to six to 18 months in the Wayne County Correctional Facility after he pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested April 17, 2014 in Salem Township. He was also ordered tp0undergo a drug and alcohol evaluations.

Judge Hamill also handed down the following sentences on Thursday, April 19:

JACOB SILFIES, 22, of Hawley was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 2 months nor more than 23 ½ months for one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a mental health evaluation, and complete an anger management course. The incident occurred on December 2 in Lake Township.

DUI SENTENCES

VLADIMIR MALINAK, 53, of Scranton was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 6 months nor more than 5 years for one count of DUI, a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree and one count of Driving While Operating Privileges Suspended/Revoked, a Summary offense. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $1,700.00, participate in and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment, and complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program. The incident occurred on August 25, 2013 in Lehigh Township, Wayne County, PA. He refused a blood test.

NICOLE DOERRIE, 34, of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 6 months nor more than 5 years for one count of DUI, a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree. She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $1,500, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, attend a minimum of 2 AA/NA meetings per week, undergo a mental health evaluation, complete the MAAEZ Program through Wayne County Drug and Alcohol Commission within 3 months, and obtain full time employment within 30 days of parole. The incident occurred on November 10, in Salem Township. She refused a blood test.

MEGAN LEE CRON, 28, of Lackawaxen was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 2 months nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI, an ungraded Misdemeanor. She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $1,000, participate in and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and perform 40 hours of community service. The incident occurred on August 27 in Paupack Township. Her BAC revealed a .233%.

COLLAN RANDALL PARRY, 19, of Moscow was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 30 days nor more than 23 ½ months for one count of Criminal Trespass, a Felony of the 2nd Degree, one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, an ungraded Misdemeanor, and one count of DUI, an ungraded Misdemeanor. He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $1,100.00, submit to the drawing of a DNA sample and pay $250 for the cost, comply with all recommendations of the drug and alcohol assessment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, continue with mental health treatment, maintain full time employment, and perform 50 hours of community service. The incidents occurred on January 16, 2017, in Lake Township, Wayne County and on November 11 in Damascus Township. His blood test revealed a Controlled Substance.

PROBATION STATUS

MICHELLE SCOTT, 45, of Scranton was placed on probation for a period of 12 months for one count of Official Oppression-Infringement of Rights, a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree. She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, continue with mental health treatment, and perform 75 hours of community service within 6 months. The incident occurred between June 3, 2014 and May 10, 2017, in Canaan Township.

CHRISTINA MCKEEBY, 27, of Hawley was placed on probation for a period of 9 months for one count of Possession of Controlled Substance, an ungraded Misdemeanor. She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $200, comply with drug and alcohol treatment recommendations, maintain employment, and participate in MAAZE through Wayne County Drug and Alcohol Commission. The incident occurred on April 17, 2017, in Paupack Township.

BENEDETTA WILKINSON, 74, of Lake Ariel, PA, was placed on probation for a period of 6 months for two counts of Retail Theft, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree and two counts of Driving Without a License, Summary offenses. She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay restitution in the total amount of $55.85, pay a fine in the amount of $400, and comply with all recommendations through Wayne County Area Agency on Aging and refrain from entering Weis Markets, Hamlin, and Dollar General, Lakeville, while on supervision. The incidents occurred on July 14 in Salem Township and November 21 in Paupack Township.

ARD CANDIDATES

DEAN VANORDEN, 24 of Honesdale was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related DUI. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs and perform 40 hours of community service and have his operator’s privilege suspended for 60 days.  The incident occurred on October 26 in Dyberry Township. His blood draw tested positive for Controlled Substance.

DAVID JONES, 56, of Beach Lake was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to Stalking. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs and perform 40 hours of community service. The incident occurred between June 23 and July 21 in Damascus Township.
