[ARCHIVED] Assault Leads to Short Prison Stay at Sentencing

Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced the following case were addressed by the President Janine Edwards in Wayne County Court, Thursday, March 2:

MARK BENNETT, age 57, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to no less than 10 days nor more than 12 months incarcerated at the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Simple Assault (M2). He was ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, have no contact with the victim, and refrain from the use of illegal controlled substances. He is to submit to random drug testing, personal/property searches and to have a DNA sample drawn. He is also ordered to continue his mental health treatment and to complete an Anger Management Program.  He is eligible to participate in the Re-Entry program. 

 KEVIN MICHAEL BOWLING, age 60, of Mont Alto, PA, was sentenced to a period of 6 months’ probation on one count of Driving Under Influence of Alcohol (M).  He was ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, pay a fine of $300, and obtain employment within 30 days of sentencing and to participate in drug and alcohol treatment.  He is to refrain from illegal substances, participate in random drug testing and personal/property searches, as well as attend Alcohol Highway Safety Program. Bowling is eligible for the Re-Entry and Work Release programs. 

 GARY HAUN, age 65, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to 6 months of probation on one count of a DUI (M). He is to be placed on house arrest with electronic and alcohol monitoring through the SCRAM program for a period of 72 hours and to attend Alcohol Highway Safety Program. Haun is ordered to pay the cost of the prosecution, a mandatory $1,000 fine and pay $50 supervision fee monthly. He is to participate in drug and alcohol treatment, random drug testing, maintain employment and submit to personal/property searches. He is eligible for the Re-Entry and Work Release programs.

TAMMY STRASBURGER, age 46, of Lake Ariel, PA, was issued a Bench Warrant for failure to appear at court.

 FRANCES NICHOL PALMIERI, age 31, of Lake Ariel PA, was issued a Bench Warrant for failure to appear at courrt.
