HONESDALE – Wayne County District Attorney Patrick Robinson reports Daniel Curzio, 21, of Glen Ellyn, IL, will spend the next 35 days to 23.5 months in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for one count of corruption of minors and one count of indecent assault, stemming form an Oct. 1, 2017 incident in Hawley Borough.
Senior Judge Raymond Hamill also ordered Curzio to continue with sex offender, drug & alcohol and mental health treatment as well as have not contact with the victim and pay for counseling up to $10,000.
Judge Hamill also handed down the following sentences June 21 in the Court of Common Pleas:
DANIEL PUERNER, 39, of Forest City was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 90 days followed immediately by 60 months less 90 days in the Intermediate Punishment Program for one count of DUI (M1). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, be placed on House Arrest and Alcohol Monitoring through the SCRAM Program for a period of 6 months, pay a fine in the amount of $1,500, participate in and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and complete 100 hours of community service within 6 months. The incident occurred on March 26, 2017, in Clinton Township. His BAC revealed a .188%.
JUSTIN RODRIGUEZ, 19, of Waymart was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 1 month nor more than 18 months for one count of Simple Assault (M2). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, undergo a mental health evaluation, and complete an anger management course. The incident occurred on April 5, 2017, in Cherry Ridge Township.
THOMAS GREGORY, 29, of Equinunk was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a of not less than 10 days nor more than 12 months for one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, be placed on GPS Electronic Monitoring for a period of 60 days, continue with drug and alcohol treatment, and perform 50 hours of community service within 3 months of parole. The incident occurred on October 5 in Honesdale Borough.
SHAWN KESSLER, 26, of Hawley was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 5 days nor more than 12 months for one count of Possession of Controlled Substance-Heroin (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $500, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, perform 50 hours of community service within 3 months, and maintain fulltime employment. The incident occurred on February 17, 2017, in Palmyra Township.
DUKE SANDFORD, 37, of Jefferson Township was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 5 days nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $500., participate in and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and perform 50 hours of community service within 3 months. The incident occurred on October 8 in Salem Township.
CURTIS SWEENEY, 47. of Archbald was placed on probation for a period of 18 months for two counts of Cruelty to Animals (M2), one count of Applications for Dog Licenses/Fees, Penalties (S), and one count of Vaccination Against Rabies Required (S). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay fines in the amount of $200, and shall not own or care for any domestic animals while on probation. The incident occurred between October 1, through October 26 in Clinton Township.
