Senior Farmers Market Access

An effort is underway to create a mechanism that makes it as easy as possible for senior citizens to access fresh, local produce through the PA Department of Agriculture's Farmers Market Voucher program, which provide eligible seniors with $20 in vouchers to use at any registered farmers market. Wayne County Humans Services Agency and the Agriculture Work Group have begun discussing innovative ways of bring these nutritious, fresh, local foods to them without adding to the busy market schedules of many farmers.
