ALDENVILLE (May 10, 2018) –The Clinton Township Board of Supervisors launched their first-ever webpage at the May meeting on Wednesday evening. The pages are hosted on the Wayne County website ( and provide the township with an online presence.

Supervisors Ken Coles, Russell Curtis and Brian Non expressed their appreciation for the background work that resident Maureen Freed completed to help make the webpages possible. Freed said when she and her husband, Joe, moved to the township, she was surprised that she could not find any information about her new home online.

She approached the supervisors, who authorized her to make some inquiries on their behalf at the county level.

The Wayne County Commissioners were preparing to launch their new website, powered by Civic Plus, a company that works exclusively with government throughout Pennsylvania and the country. The new site provided an opportunity for the county to help meet the needs of the municipality.

County Digital Media Specialist and webmaster Mikki Uzupes worked with Freed to create a sort of template that provides space to list township officials, local regulations, township history and answer some frequently asked questions.

The township budget and meeting minutes are also posted on the Clinton Township website along with important community contacts, road maps and a calendar.

“The county commissioners recognize that municipal budgets are tight, and it can be difficult to justify spending tax dollars on web development,” Uzupes explained. “They also understand the value and need to have information available at people’s fingertips in an increasingly connected world. For a small investment of time on my part, the county can help to bridge that gap.”

Clinton became just the ninth municipality in the county to have a website. In the future, the county will be able to provide the township with statistical information about the site’s performance.

The Wayne County Commissioners are willing to offer this basic service to other townships and boroughs moving forward, and interested boards and councils should contact Mikki Uzupes at 570-253-5970 ext. 3139 or email
